  • After a career in health care, Edward Pecikonis decided to pursue his passion for the performing arts. That dream became the Texas Academy of Performing Arts (TAPA), a non-profit organization devoted to schooling people of all ages and its accompanying venue Spotlight Theatre.

"Allen is a great central location and I saw the need for a theater that was accessible to everyone, especially families. Many people have the preconceived idea that the performing arts are strictly a black tie affair. We want to put that myth to rest," says Executive Director and Allen resident Pecikonis.

Spotlight Theatre is designed to be for the community, by the community. There are several ways that you can participate. As an audience member, you’ll get great entertainment in an intimate, casual setting tailored for the whole family. If you prefer to be onstage than in front of it, entertainers of all kinds are always needed. Help is also needed backstage with set production. No matter where you want to be, Spotlight Theatre is for all ages.

Start a new family tradition this holiday season with Spotlight Theatre. Upcoming shows include "I Still Love Lucy" based on the popular T.V. show which will run in November. December will feature Allen’s 1st Annual Holiday Variety Show (which is still open for casting). Round out the year with dinner and dancing at the New Year’s Celebration. To order tickets or find out more about these and other events call 972-649-6140 or visit www.spotlightallen.com or www.tapaallen.com
