The Ron Gentry Allen Kiwanis Club Golf Tournament will be held Thursday, October 9 at the Twin Creeks Golf Club. This is the 12th annual Allen Kiwanis golf tournament and is named in honor and memory of Ron Gentry, Fire Chief of the Allen Fire Department for many years and member of Kiwanis. Ron was an inspiration and very active in the annual event, which is a major fundraiser for the organization.

The format for the tournament is a four-person scramble with shotgun start beginning at 1 p.m. Entry fee is $95 per person before September 25. There will be door prizes, hole-in-one contests, closest to the hole, longest drive, putting contest and team prizes for both gross and net. Local businesses are encouraged to participate as sponsors.

Proceeds from the tournament will be used to fund Kiwanis projects primarily focused on filling the needs of children in the Allen area. These include Special Olympics, Allen Angels, ACO and support to students at all levels of the Allen and Lovejoy schools.
