The Foundation for Lovejoy Schools (FLS) announces the 2nd Annual Denim and Diamonds Gala & Auction, May 3, 2008 at Plano Centre. Last year’s event, a huge success, is the model for this year’s party. Once again, there will be a delicious meal, live music, dancing and auctions, both live and silent.
"The Denim and Diamonds Gala is the signature fundraising event for the Foundation. Funds raised at this event will continue to be used to support programs in the district. The Lovejoy ISD Invest in Excellence teacher committee works closely with the Foundation to identify these essential areas for funding," stated Don Goodrich, FLS President.
"Our Lovejoy supporters have been so generous this year," stated Pennie Beauchamp, Gala Chair. "Local businesses have made financial commit¬ments to underwrite our event. PBK Architects and Capital One have joined together to become co-presenters of Denim and Diamonds. We are delighted to have their support."
Donations for the online, silent, and live auctions are streaming in. Pennie Beauchamp said, "Contributions are coming from every corner of our community. Businesses, parents, citizens and other volunteer organi¬zations are the key to success of
our donations drive. The excitement surrounding Denim and Diamonds is proof of the community’s belief in the Lovejoy School System."
Gala co-chairs, Glenda Goodrich and Kelli Litchenburg have enlisted a large team of volunteers who have been busy managing every important detail that will guarantee a successful event.
"Our volunteers have planned and will implement a fantastic gala and auction. All that’s left to accomplish is to fill Plano Centre and let the party begin!" stated Beauchamp.
Tickets to Denim & Diamonds can be purchased online at www.lovejoyisd.net for $75 each. On April 12, bidding will open for the Online Auction.
